Wizkid Bags The Song Of The Year With ‘Essence’

Wizkid’s hit song ‘Essence,’ which features Tems, was named song of the year at the Headies Awards 2022.

Wizkid has added to his Headies Awards tally by winning Song Of The Year with his hit song ‘Essence’ at the 15th edition of the prestigious award ceremony on Sunday, September 4, 2022.

Following its release in 2020, ‘Essence’ became the first song by a Nigerian artist to chart in the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100, as well as one of the songs to be certified platinum in the US after selling over a million copies in the state.

The song’s popularity has been unprecedented, with many artists hailing it as one of the best songs to come out of the country.
