The Police Prosecutor Explains What Will Happen To BNXN For Spitting On An Officer

According to a police spokesperson, the singer will face charges for “assaulting” a law enforcement officer.

Ben Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, has revealed what will happen to ace singer and songwriter Daniel Benson, also known as BNXN, for spitting on an officer.

Remember that a video that went viral on the afternoon of Wednesday, August 17th, showed a clearly agitated BNXN parked in an unidentified location in Lagos and flanked by gun-wielding policemen exchanging words with a civilian who appeared to be in the company of the artiste.

BNXN (fka Buju) revealed in now-deleted tweets that he was indeed in the reported situation with Nigerian police and that he spat on an officer for tearing his shirt and slapping him. He stated:

Spat in a police officer’s face and it felt so good. I let you in my car and you dragged and tear my shirt, and start slapping me? (Sic) Nah, everybody must stop!

In response to BNXN’s tweet, the police PRO stated that the singer will face charges for assaulting a police officer and that the officers will also face punishment if found guilty of misconduct. He stated:

@BNXN proudly tweeted that he ‘spat in [sic] a police officer’s face and it felt so good.’ He has since deleted the tweet. The police officers will be sanctioned for their misbehavior if established, while @BNXN will surely answer for his assault on a police officer
