History has been recorded in the Kaduna Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) as the first female chairman has been sworn in.
According to a statement signed by the Team Farida Campaign Director-General, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson, the swearing-in exercise took place at the Kaduna Council Secretariat on Thursday, December 16, 2021.
The Credentials Committee Chairman, Evangelist Mordecai Ibrahim explained that she emerged unopposed, following the disqualification of her only opponent Asmau Yawo Halilu.
Farida has made history not only in Kaduna State but entire Northern Nigeria.
She vowed to ensure transparency in the running of the council.
