DBN Gogo & Dinho Thokoza Café Album Download
Amapiano star DBN Gogo, born Lungile Thabethe, has released his highly anticipated debut studio album titled "Thokoza Café". The new 7-track project sees Gogo further establishing himself as one of the leading voices in the Amapiano scene right now.
Gogo burst onto the scene in recent years with numerous hit singles that helped popularize the Amapiano sound both locally in South Africa and globally. Tracks like "Go Down", "Level Up", and "Emazulwini" showcased his viral brand of upbeat Amapiano infused with catchy melodies and pounding basslines.
With "Thokoza Café", Gogo aims to take listeners on a musical journey that pays homage to the underground Amapiano spots or "cafes" where the genre was born and bred. The album takes its name from the Soweto neighborhood of Thokoza where many influential early Amapiano artists and DJs hails from.
Across the 7 tracks, Gogo collaborates with several familiar voices in the Amapiano space. The lead single "Obami" features diva ShaSha while "Mdhale" is a team-up with vocalist Dinho. Other features include Mosake, Moonchild Sanelly, and Shimza on the production side.
Songs like "Phum'phum'" and "Mingabathu" showcase Gogo's signature upbeat blends of deep house-tinged keys, lush percussion, and catchy sing-along hooks. Closing track "Izinto Ezinxenye" provides a more melodic and emotive departure.
With "Thokoza Café", DBN Gogo aims to cement both his status and represent the thriving Amapiano movement on a global scale. The album invites listeners into the world and community that spawned one of South Africa's biggest new musical exports. It's an auspicious debut effort from an artist who is surely only getting started.
Thokoza Café is now available on all major streaming platforms. Be sure to check it out and add it to your playlists if you want to experience the authentic sound of Amapiano in album form from one of the genres leading stars.
